I'm getting really frustrated with this site, if I want to access my personal

workspace and follow up on comments and post critiques I have to hook up to PN

early in the morning or very late at night otherwise the site is so slow I

find myself spending less and less time on Photo.Net, and that's a shame

because I enjoy the people I meet and the help that I've gotten.

Hmm... I'm not sure why. My own personal workspace is quite fast right now. You don't have a huge amount of content in the database. We're upgrading the software/hardware in about two weeks (you'll see some big changes). Please let us know how the performance is after that.

In the last two days I to have noticed that uploading and going from place to place (like my personal workspace and others have gotten REALLY slow. MOSTLY during the peek times. Maybe the update will help. Maybe it would help if you would do a diagnostic or something. It has been very frustrating as I could tell ratings was really down two nights ago CENTRAL STANDARD time. Thank you... micki (me being new and all ~ I didn't know if this was normal) <a href="http://photobucket.com/"

I appreciate the fact Philip that you read my concern and I'll eagerly await the upgrades and report back as to the speed of my workspace. Gracias.....

Thank you Micki for your feedback too, this is a great site for sharing photography and as any site will, it has it's glitches, but it's been weeks now since my personal workspace was running with any speed at all.

I checked the site this morning as soon as I saw this thread, but everything seemed okay and not especially slow when I checked. I have recently fixed one source of sporadic slowness that would strike every once in a while, but there may be other intermittent causes. In any case, I'd need to catch it in the act. The next time you notice unreasonable site performance, I'd appreciate it if you emailed me directly so that I might be able to take a look right away.

Mr. Choi, it is working a lot faster today then it was working the past two days so hopefully it was just working slow because of a glitch that fixed itself or because of a problem elsewhere. If this happens again I will e-mail you with specific problem and the timeout issue so that you can understand the issue exactly. I appreciate your immediate response to this matter as I'm sure Susan would agree (thanks Susan for all your wonderful help ;) that we are just so excited to get in there and see all our friends wonderful pictures! ~ micki <a href="http://photobucket.com/"

Please note that photo.net doesn't use avatars or signatures and that adding the text...

... to all your posts isn't something we encourage. Please take a look at the Terms of Use which states...

"... If you include a hyperlink in any posting, it should be directly relevant to the question asked. (Linking to your own personal site as a matter of course is not acceptable; there is already a place for a personal home page URL in your user profile.)..."

Thanks

My experience is that the site has been slow for quite a few days now and it is right now as I write this.

What I've been doing to deal with the wait for page loads is to open in a new window. That way I can busy myself with reading a forum while waiting for another one to open. It is painfully slow and has been for days.

Bob, thank you for letting me know... I will not do it anymore. I kept seeing little dogs and cats running around and thought hey I can do my little pictures. But I went and read the rules and you are right. No harm in not doing it :) ~ As far as the website running better it seems to be running faster. Sometimes MUCH MUCH faster. So hopefully all is well! ~ micki
