fluid mounting

Is there a cheap & cheerful way of fluid mounting a 6x6neg onto the glass of

an epson 1660? I'm trying to determine if the negs aren't perfectly sharp, or

if the neg is not perfectly flat in the plastic holder. If this is

inadviseable, would sandwiching the neg between the 6x6 mask plates of an old

enlarger do the trick ?

While the scanscience kit is actually pretty good value for the money, I wouldn't say that the

processis particularly cheerful.

 

If all you are trying to do is determine if a medium format negative is sharp, use a 4-6x

loupe.
