joe_lacy
I have the Halo. It's ok but still getting hot spots on parts of the skin. I'm using a Quantum t2d head and bouncing BACKWARDS into the Halo then out. Still hot spots. I painted the inside white and still hot spots. I want very flat even light and NO hot spots, will the softlighterII white be any better in the hot spots on the skin? I wonder if the fact that the T2d is bare bulb has any effect? Change lights, change modifiers or both? Help please. Thanks, Joe
ellis_vener_photography
Better than either will be a medium or large Chimera softbox close to the subject. or: Put a large diffusion screen between the "Halo" and the subject. And: You might also try a little powder makeup. Moving the light higher might work well too.
twmeyer
Check out the Photek Illuminata <a href="http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=185548&is=REG&addedTroughType=search">at B and H</a> or hunt for it at <a href="http://www.photekusa.com/">Photek's website</a>. <p>They claim "<i>The recorded light output at the front diffuser on most of these other models is a loss of 1/2 f/stop from center to edge.</i>" and it is pretty nice. I use the 36", but it sounds like you'd want the bigger one... t
