john_redding
Just took delivery of my 24-70 f28 L Canon lens witch replaces a cheap 28-80 that I had been using with my 5D. Had it mounted on the camera with in a minute out of the box and shot 5 or 6 shots to check out in CS2, very delited. What lens do most of you guys? I beleave this could be my faverite. hctran
It's great with my 5D along with the 70-200 2.8 L IS.
mike simons
Looking at outfitting this spring with the 70-200L IS, as well, but wondering about the above-mentioned 24-70 vs. the 16-35, particularly in light of the fact that I have the 85 1.8 already --- open to opinions; shooting weddings, interested in the wider 16 for establishing shots of venues, local wineries, church interiors, etc., to help set context. Thoughts are most welcome - -Mike
annealmasy
This is a great lens, we use it all the time. It's not all that wide, however, if that's what you're going for. For that we like the 16-35.
ben_rubinstein___mancheste1664880652
And the point of buying it and then asking is what exactly? If this focal length is what you need and you like a fast focusing super sharp f2.8 normal zoom with great contrast and the best hood design ever made for a zoom lens then you will not be disappointed by this lens. I would have a go at your spelling but I have no doubt that I can speak even one word of your native language (I assume you are not a native English speaker) never mind spell it, so I'll keep my mouth shut! ;-)
john_redding
Easy there Ben! Yes a native, just not a good spelling native.

picturesque
Some people think it is wonderful, others don't. I don't have one, I have the 16-35mm zoom, the only zoom I have, plus a crop camera. If I got a 5D, I'd still maybe opt for the 24-105mm f4 for the zoom, and primes for low light.
bdp
I use the Tamron 28-75 and love it, I use that about 80-90% of the time for my wedding shots. Using a 20D for now, I really like the 10-22 and the 70-200 (I rent both) and will be buying one of them in the near future. it all depends on what you're shooting to determine the best lens. KenPapai
I can barely understand what you're asking, in any case, just *one* single lens, the best choice for a Canon is the 24-70. You couldn't really do better and you can do plenty worse.
mreul
i shoot also w/ a tamron 28-70 and love it...20d too....will be adding more soon!
shaun_carter
depends on which camera you use and what other lenses you have. for a full frame camera like the 5d it would be my choice. for a 1.6 crop like the 20D or 30D i would go with the 17-55 2.8 IS. that is assuming if this is your only wide angle lens. vmphoto
I agree with the person who stated above that with th 5D, if you have the 24-70 f/2.8, along with the 70-200 L-series it's pretty much all you need for a wedding.
