Keeping the Camera Dry

Despite buying lenses and bodies that are sold based on their water

resistant qualities I still get nervous when I am sat out with

thousands of pounds worth of equipment getting wet. At the moment I

have a chamois leather and that's it, just wondered what everyone

else used?!

I had good luck with StormJacket covers so far. While it's not as custom-fitted as others, it's quick to put on and off plus easy to use. A small for 80-200 f2.8 and a medium for the 300 f2.8. I've seen some using the AquaTech cover (blue color) that are quite customized and seem to give probably the best protection, but starts around US$200 last time I check.

Q: Where's the best place to plant a garden?

A: Across the street from a speedway -- It's guaranteed to rain!

Fortunately, I shoot high speed oval races, and while stock cars can run in a light drizzle, open wheel halts as soon as someone sneezes... And when it pours, I'll either zip up my gear or duck into a porta-potty.
