No further discussion needed." Not at all. I just wanted to explain what I was writing about. Hence the analogy with music. If it doesn't do anything for you, doesn't mean we don't need to discuss it. Afterall, we are free to discuss music we don't care for, but the discussion would probably be very different. Think about the moment when you feel moved by certain music, or a painting. It's not just beautiful, well-composed, etc. It makes you feel a certain way. It transmits a feeling, an emotion. This is what I hope my photographs do now or will do to viewers. I hope they provoke some sort of an emotional response. If a photograph doesn't do something like that for you, doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss it. But it is probably going to be a more interesting discussion if it does. It's art, you know.
