IDEA - TRP pages per category vs lumped together.

I don't know much about the workings of this site so I might be

asking too much but I have an idea. I have been reading some recent

threads concerning the TRP's and how to improve it. My idea is to

have a TRP list per category versus lumping them all together. For

instance, my interest is children so in theroy I could click on TRP

in the children's category and it would rank the top 100 or so rated

photos submitted during the last three days only in that category.

Each category could have it's own list so people interested in that

particular genre could see how their measure up and what it takes to

make the list. I now find myself just flipping through the current

TRP and only stopping at the two or three children images that

actually make the list. Is this feasible and what to you think of the

idea? I am thinking all the nudes can battle each other out and it

would get rid of the complaints about all the TRP being nudes.

Thoughts?

I hope it wasn't because if so I missed that feature. How would you do it before? I could search by different catergories (originality, folder views, photographer, etc.) but not just children's images I would see them all. Did I miss something? I would like to just click the TRP children's only images or portraits only images and see the top 100 or 20 or whatever they decide.

Emily, there was a feature that started about a month ago and was suspended today. At the TRP page, there were 3 drop down lists. Category, Time Period, and By (avg, rate recent, sum, etc...)

If you chose any specific category, you can choose any time period by the By field was limited to Average.

So, inform me, what have I missed the last couple of days? Why was this feature turned off? Was it a technical reason or because no one was actually viewing the standard TRP? I enjoyed just looking at what category I wanted, instead of searching through the masses.
