hjoseph7
Does anybody know how much the Mamiya 645 1000s weighs in lbs. I'm thinking about purchasing a copy stand that can support up to 5 lbs. Thanks
bueh
From the <b><a href="http://www.mamiya.com/assets/pdfs/645/M645_1000S_v4.pdf" target="_new">M645 1000s manual</a></b>: <p> <center><table BORDER CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=5 > <tr> <td COLSPAN="3"> <center><b>Weight of the M645 1000s</b></center> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td>(w/1.9 lens)</td> <td>(w/2.8 lens)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>(w/Waist-Level Finder S)</td> <td>55.4 oz <br>(1570 g)</td> <td>49.6 oz <br>(1405 g)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>(w/Prism Finder)</td> <td>62.3 oz <br>(1765 g)</td> <td>56.4 oz <br>(1600 g)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>(w/PD Prism Finder S)</td> <td>66.5 oz <br>(1885 g)</td> <td>60.7 oz <br>(1720 g)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>(w/CdS Prism Finder)</td> <td>67.2 oz <br>(1905 g)</td> <td>61.4 oz <br>(1740 g)</td> </tr> </table></center><p> I weighted my M645J once and found it about 100 g lighter than the 1000s (or the regular M645, don't remember). I don't think the weight of the M645 will exceed 5 lbs with the most lenses.
stwrtertbsratbs5
What about the weight of a lens? You'll need one for most work!
clarence_l
Hello, I've also been considering the issue of factoring lenses into weight calculations as I'm considering whether a Manfrotto 486 is sufficient for me, or if I'd require a 488. I realise that the weights of lenses are usually easily available, but for telephoto lenses, it could mean that the center of gravity shifts significantly away from the camera body, where the tripod head mounts. I'm considering getting a Bronica SQB with a 180mm lens. The mass would be approximately: 1025 grams + 865 grams = 1890 grams or 4.17 pounds. The Manfrotto 486 is rated at a capacity of 13.2 pounds, but I wonder if I'm being a little paranoid when I suspect that it might not take a tele lens as easily. Thank you! With My Regards,Clarence
