ellis_vener_photography
Haow hard it is to do a google.com search? For some , apparently very hard. Here is what i found it 20 seconds: http://www.walkercameras.com/titan-sf-4x5-02.html
blakley
Your link doesn't mention geared movements at all, Ellis. From the description and the picture I infer that there are no geared movements, but this might not be obvious to everyone.
pico_digoliardi
It appears not to have geared movements. The copy mentions clamped movements. An excellent source of authority is an article by Quang-Tuan Luong, found at: http://www.largeformatphotography.info/roundup4x5.html You will notice that Luong mentions geared movements when discussing a number of cameras, but it is specifically not mentioned for the Titan SF. May I ask what kind of camera you are looking for? Geared movements are great for repeating well-known setups, but for a lot of field work they aren't important. Oh, gears are also good for persons with a tremor or similar condition.
rich_morgan1
I have one. It doesn't have any geared movements.
ellis_vener_photography
My point was: if it had geared movements (beyond focus) the walker site would have mentioned them. Sorry if that wasn't as obvious to you as it was to me.
robin_coutts
Thank you for the responses particularly Rich. I did do a google search and one of the articles mentioned something like 'smooth movements, one knob for up and one for down'. I did not think there was any gearing, but that comment made me wonder. However, there is nothing like real expereience to clarify. thankyou Robin
