peter_glass1
A recent thread pointed me to some downloadable Actions here:http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm These Actions work fine, except for some that require a "Convert Mode" to take place. A dialogue box appears and says "The Command 'Convert Mode' is currently not available." The option presented is to Continue, or Stop. I'm trying to apply these actions to color files which convert them to Sepia, Duotone and other types of monochromatic images. My question is: What "Convert Mode" isn't available, and how do I make it available? Hope this makes sense, and thanks in advance.
blumesan
For what you are doing, the convert mode is probably trying to convert from RGB color space to grayscale or duotone. Depending on what version of PS you have, these options may not be available for 16 bit color images. That's just a guess. Try converting file to 8 bits first and then run action. peter_glass1
I'm using Photoshop CS. It might be related to 8 vs. 16 bit mode. That's easy enough to try, which I'll do later this evening with more time.
peter_glass1
Mike, you hit the nail on the head. Works perfectly in 8 bit mode. I should have thought to try that!
sean de merchant httpw
You will need to record over that step with the CS compatible version. In the transition from CS to CS2 Adobe replaced Image->Convert To Profile with Edit->Convert To Profile. So depending on what version you use and what version of PS the Action was made for you will have to replace that step. hope this helps, Sean
