jmf
More a warning then a question. Amvona claims these ship with a"universal connector". They don't. They ship with a connector forJTL monolights, a Chinese made "value" line. I strongly suspect theseare knock offs of the Photoflex Octodomes (same sizes, same types ofaccessories, similar but roughly made connector). I didn't realize Photoflex was actually litigating over the designcopies till after I had bought. I'm guessing that a Photoflex 9xxxspeedring will fit. I should know by the w/e. johnmarkpainter
I thought it was supposed to be more like the "Octabank"....let us know what speedring works. What lights are you using?

jmf
I think what really PO'ed Photoflex was that they actually lifted pictures off of their site. They had Photoflex employees "showing" equipment which was really Photoflex's (or so they claim). I'm kinda surprised more companies haven't gone after them, unless they think they're not really eating into their mkt, and they figure they could recover what a lawsuit would bring. jmf
John, sorry, forgot to answer your question. I ordered the SC9003NR which is the new style Photoflex connector for Norman 9xx series lights (like the 2000/2400). It's their 4/8 rib connector, and it's also tapped for 1/4" and 3/8". That way you can mount the box to the stand, and the head to the connector if that works out better.
