vania_plemiannikov
Hi, I accidentally exposed some fp4+ @ 400. There's a bit of everything on those rolls, but I guess what I really care about are a few mountain landscapes shot under the bright and contrasty winter sun of Noth Africa. I had a yellow filer on, so I actually exposed @ 200 (for filter compensation). I guess what I am looking for is to preserve as much shadow details as possible. So I tought of HC-110 in sol. A. I have absolutely no experience what so ever with that developper and cannot find any info on FP4+ @ 400 in HC-110. Microphen stock struck me as being the safe bet since it is recommended by Ilford and the dev time they indicate is amost the same in the mass dev chart. But I have no experience with microphen either. I would be eternally gratefull to anyone with personnal experience on pushing fp4+ willing to enlight me. Thanks a lot. V.P. jon_furer
don't have direct experience with pushing fp4+ at 400 with HC-110, but check out these links, they might be helpful: http://www.covingtoninnovations.com/hc110/ http://www.chrisjohnsonphotographer.com/charts.shtml
john_shriver
Microphen or DD-X would probably be better choices, they are good speed enhancing developers.
roger_hicks1
Dear Vania, Microphen. True ISO of FP4 in Microphen is over 160 (close to 200) so this is little over a 1 stop push. Cheers, Roger (www.rogerandfrances.com -- and do you read Foto Magazin from Moscow?)
vania_plemiannikov
To conclude for futur references : developed 120 rolls of FP4+ @ 400 in microphen stock for 13 min @ 22ᄚC (roughly 15'30 @ 20ᄚC). I haven't printed yet but the negs looks ok. A bit dense but the scenes were very contrasty. Indoor shots are actually much more balanced. Details everywhere. Skin tones looks awfully dense. Hope this will help. V
