I do notice that the average category has far fewer anonymous raters than those who have exposed their names. This seems to be true for the top 50 average images frequently. It is due to the fact that a photo has to have at least 5 Rate Recent ratings to be in the default TRP view, and at least 5 ratings overall to be in the Average view. About twice as many photos get 5 ratings overall as get 5 Rate Recent ratings. This is partly due to the fact that the position of photos in the rating queue is determined by the total number of ratings (without regard to where the ratings came from). The queue is ordered by ascending number of ratings, meaning that photos drop down the list as they get more ratings. If a photo receives a lot of direct ratings before it has received the 5 Rate Recent ratings it needs for the default view, it might not ever get to 5 RR ratings. By the way, the number of Rate Recent ratings raters peaked about three weeks ago and has dropped a little since then, although it is still above the levels of two months ago.
