Replacement Vulcanite for Leica Manufacturer Choices ?

I wish to recover my Leica 3f due to falling of vulcanite.

Which cover would you recommend?

I will be going for plain black skin as close to original manufacture.

The choice is Aki-Asahi customs (Japan)or Cameraleather (USA).

Both are similar in price.

I was very pleased with my Aki Asahi covering for my M4-2 if that's any help. Nice fit & finish and was cheaper than Cameraleather (remember Asahi's price includes shipping).

I just received a covering for the door on my M4 from Cameraleather. It was a very good match for the vulcanite on the rest of the camera (which was undamaged). It was a perfect fit and easy to install.

I redid an M2 with the Cameraleather kit. It was a perfect fit and easy to apply. Looks great! The biggest hassle is getting all of the old vulcanite off the body. After that it's clear sailing.

My vote is for Aki-Asahi. Perfect fit, match, fast shipping and great price.

Some of the material from cameraleather are paper thin. go for Aki, he knew English and replay your question fast and their material are excellent thick enough.

You would do well with either one. I've only used the Cameraleather myself and it looks magnificent. The ones I've seen from Aki-Ashai are also terrific. It's a coin toss IMHO.

My 10 cents worth - I was extremely pleased with the covering I bought from Aki-Asahi - operfect fit, and excellent, fast service.

Recently re-covered my IIIc with the plain black covering from Aki-Asahi. Perfect fit, easy to apply if you start as instructed. An advantage is that the adhesive doesn't cling immediately, so that the covering can be lifted off if you go wrong. You must be particularly careful not to stretch it.
