Woolwinder
I am about to use some rolls of this film in 120. Can anyone make useful suggestions as to how to get the best out of it. What ISO should I use and what will be the best developer, HC110 Dil B or Rodinal @ 1:25 or even 1:50? Thanks in advance. Peter
frank.schifano
Freestyle has a development chart and more importantly, the data sheet for this film which you can find here: http://www.freestylephoto.biz/pdf/Fomapan_400.pdf . The Massive Dev Chart says 6 minutes for an EI or 320 in HC-110 dilution B.
roman_sonnleitner1
Fomapan 400 is quite nice film, but it's downside is that it has a real speed of 250 at most (and even less in Rodinal - I'd try EI 160); works well with Rodinal, haven't tried it with HC110, my best results were with Calbe A49. billc1
Well, I don't know about sheet film but with 35 mm film the Arista premium liquid developer works great.

Rodinal just near E.I. 200. Not really advisable for a iso 400 film. A49 yes it's OK, same like AM74 which brings in combination with Fomapan 400 around E.I. 320 very good results. AM74 = R.H.S., maybe much better available in the USA. Best overall results with 1+9 dilution. Specially on 120 rolfilm a nice large gray scale and the grain is regular and not disturbing at all on the larger format. Robert
marek sramek
I use Foma 400 only in 35 mm format. In Xtol you get back its 400 ASA speed.<div></div>

ericd
Fomapan 400 + Aculux 2 Paterson rated at 400 ISO.
gary_gumanow
I'm using FomaPan 400 for 35mm, and FomaPan 100 for 120, and can say that I probably won't buy it again. Not worth it to use this cheap film. The 120 rolls had a blue tint to them even after rinsing prior to developing, and a longer fixing time. The 35mm FomaPan 400 didn't have frame numbers, and layed flat after drying. I'm trying out Ilford HP5+ next. For 120 I like Neopan. I'm going to be sticking with that for 120 going forward. sq6git
Hello. I have Fomapan 120/400 already loaded in the tank. I got surprised that Massive Dev Chart (http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.html) would give only times for 35mm film. Does anyone know the time I shall use in Rodinal 1:25? Unfortunately I threw leaflet of Rodinal away. Thanks for your help.
