steve_lebel
Can anyone offer their recommendations on a good starting point for this combination. I would like to minimize my testing time and expense, if there has been some good work or success by other developing professionals/artists/craftsperson who has found a ASA/development dilution/time that they are very pleased with. Any feedback is most appreciated in advance. My sincere thanks to all. Steve
ronald_wills
Steve, go to the Massive Dev Chart at digitaltruth.com. They have the info you seek. Best of luck. Ron
keith_tapscott
The time for developing Pan F in DD-X is supplied with the film and developer, that`s the place to start.
flying_tiger
The Massive Dev Chart is a good starting point. I also use Rodinal 1+100 diulution, 20 min at 68F (20C). One inversion per 30 seconds. Beautiful results! Very sharp!
robatsgh
Pan-F+ tends to be a bit contrasty in DD-X with the stock times (8:00 hand inversion at 20°C). Reduce your developer time to about 7:15 (~10% reduction) if you're hand-inverting. If you're using a rotary processor, start at a 15% reduction (6:45), but be prepared to go to 20% (6:30) if the highlights are still too dense.

Another developer to try is Ilfosol-S at 1+14. Doesn't get quite as dense.
