Well, the good news is it looks like the D200's EN-EL3e is indeed compatible with the D70.<br><br>

Thanks Richard. One of my batts do in fact fall under this recall. Just for the record, my batt that was recalled was purchased from a d70 bought in August. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, I can't say I'm too happy about this. My battery is on the list. It will take 7-10

business days after they have recieved my defective battery before I see a new one. Nikon

says they have only had 4 cases worldwide of the battery shorting and melting, so I'm

thinking I might just take my chances.

 

The Nikon web site only offers directions for a mail-in swap. Does anyone know if there is

or might be another way of getting this taken care of?

Yes, they will send you a new battery, you give them a credit card #, and you have 30 days to

return your old battery.

Ron, never take chances with Li-on batteries. They can behave like little bombs at the worst.
