kath_middleton
I have done quite a bit of historical process work (gum bichromate, cyanotypes, vandykes)in the past and am planning ot get back into it. However, Kodalith sources in Toronto dried up years ago. I was sent the Ilford Ortho sheet film as a substitute a few years back and it was not feasible (difficult development and thickness way beyond necessary). I have noted a mention of Fujilith on the site. Is that more akin to Kodalith's qualities? Has anyone tried it for contact printing onto watercolour papers? silent1
I haven't used it, but the Maco Genius positive film has a good reputation. Seems to me Forte makes an ortho lith film, also -- might be worth investigating the characteristics of these materials.
don_mckeith
I just ordered a roll of Plus-X aero from this seller(which I haven't received yet) but my understanding is it's on a thin rollfilm base.He also carries direct dupe film in various sizes- might be worth checking out- http://stores.ebay.com/Mr-Foto1-PHOTO-BARGAINS
james_noel1
Freestyle Photo in LA sells an excellent, thin based lithographic film, APHS, which I and many others, use for making enlarged negatives. It is also less expensive than Kodak was. http://www.freestylephoto.biz/
karel_van_den_fonteyne
Happy newyear. I use printing-film (photo-emulsion on a transparent layer) with fairly good results. The only problem is the sensibillity at longer exposure times (e.g. 10 sec f16 - 2,5 ASA). This problem can be an advantage when you use barrel mounted lenses. The film I use comes from ADOX (Berlin). The send it after E-mail (and payment in advance). Greetings, Karel.
