Rate recent fails when image removed

It looks as if there's a problem in the rate recent code. If a

picture's removed from the queue after having been inserted in it, the

rating process jams, reporting an insert failure. If you exit the

queue, wait a while and then re-enter the queue you will eventually

loose the offending entry but it can take some time before the dead

link dies.

Apologies if this is old news.

Yes, this is old news, in a way -- it has been pointed out and griped about over, and over, and over in the past months. But don't apologize for bringing it up again -- somebody needs to, because it is being ignored.
It may seem a minor problem to the wizards behind the curtain at photo.net, but I think it's annoying and frustrating enough that some people have just given up trying to rate through Rate Recent because of it. I know I have. It is evidently not very high on the list of priorities a photo.net right now, but perhaps if people keep bringing it up, it will get some attention.

Harvey: I agree. I rarely rate through the rate recent queue but whenever I do, it stalls out for

the reasons you describe. (And it always seems to be the same photographer who is entering

the deleting images at an apparently feverish clip.)

It would be nice if they would fix it. If ratings are the bread and butter here, seems like this

one should get some priority.

Mass postings and mass removals are a real killer! I have had the queue stall about 4-5 times from one photographer alone tonight and one other time from another photographer tonight as well. I sometimes wonder if the queue is being manipulated for a stall on purpose??

Indeed it does need to be fixed. It can't be *that hard*, can it? It is a REALLY ANNOYING bug.
