canfred
I found some old travel pic's taken in 69 M3 Summaron 35 f2.8. Just to see how well they survived I scanned a few with flextight. Sure no match to the late chromes but survive they did. The film is / was Agfachrome 18 and the Summaron is not the best choice even at the time. The place is the Bali countryside. The place of whorship is in the valley seen in photo 2 ,the monument is cut out of the rock.<div></div>

ronald_moravec1
I wouldn`t apologize for the Agfa or the lens. Your Agfa has held up well. You should see my E3 Ektachrome. And the lens is ok too. New ones are only marginally better. Check the current prices.
Rob F.
Nice shots, Manfred. BTW, the Summaron 35/2.8 was, and is, an outstanding lens. I used to have one. Even though I now own other very fine Leica 35's, I sometimes wish I had my Summaron back.
SCL
I too used a 35mm summaron in the 60's & 70's. Traded it away, and have regretted it ever since. It, for me, was a wonderful WA and street lens.
anhtu
Hi there Manfred, is that the same M3 you have now? Wow times flies.
canfred
Thanks for the comment all of you ,yes Anhtu this is the same M3 ,I already had the camera in Germany in 1965 purchased there at a cost far beond my capacity then. But the Summaron I bought here since I was unable to get the Cron 35 and I still think the Cron is the better lens. As for the old slides yes I am surprised how well they scanned. No special storage either.
huw_finney
Imagine the scene, a posting on Pnet in 2036 (31 years from now, same age as these pictures) I found a CD/CF/SD etc. etc. of my holiday in (insert place name here) anybody know how to read them, paging Huw Finney, help. Just shows how even colour images survive the years.
anhtu
Manfred, this was scanned on the Imacon right? It sure pulls out the details nicely. Did you use a tripod in those days? (You don't have to answer if the time frame is too long) - as it looks very sharp.
canfred
Yes Anhtu , its the Imacon scanner. No I did not carry the tripod those days luggage on aircraft was a problem.
