Fuji Superia 400: Same Old Stuff?

Fuji was reportedly planning a tweak of this film some time back but

I've yet to see it confirmed by someone like our Bill T. I dropped it

some years back in favor of Superia 200 and 800 since 400's garish

skin tones, grain, and nasty saturation/contrast were too much to

take. Is the current Superia 400 the "new&improved" variety or the

same old stuff I love to hate? Thanks as usual.

I think it's great -- I use it all the time. And very cheep.

Check back threads, of which there are several, about Fuji True Definition 400. The rolls I bought at Mall-Wart were edge coded

CH-11 as opposed to CH-7 for Superia/Press 400. I never bought more

because Kodak 400UC works better for me.

Thanks, Bill. I've never seen Fuji True Definition 400 on offer in the Toronto market--it's just Superia Xtra 400. Though marked CH on the can, there's no 7 0r 11 to indicate what's what. Does the True Definition package/can graphics differ from plain old Superia 400? I ask since very fresh Superia 400 is being offered thru Costco here at a knock-down price and I know Fuji often doesn't make much fuss about emulsion tweaks in their consumer materials. Thanks.

True Def 400 has slightly less contrast than Superia 400, but it's grainier -- more along the lines of Superia 800 in that regard.
