Birth of the Planter-oid

Recommended Posts

Isobel, my 7 year old daughter saw me playing (cheek!) with a pinhole on the

Speed Graphic and asked if I would make her a pinhole camera - hence the

Planter-oid, a plastic planter from the garden, cardboard and lots of duct

tape to hold a polaroid 545 filmholder on the rear. The picture shows the

shutter (tape) the lens (foil pinhole, made by Isobel) and the custom tripod

(garden chair) As for the pictures, she is very proud of them, but won't let

me have them back to scan! Thank goodness she hasn't learnt about Leicas yet!

Great Nick

This may seem weird but I was thinking of making a Camera with a Terra Cotta pot. However I have a small shutter and lens to put in it..and a 5x7 back. I have some 8X10 film I was going to cut....

Can we see a picture from it? 2 of my children are also into Photography ... Even though 1 is a Digital nut I will help heal her ... Laughing.... The other one is like me she prefers playing in dark rooms and for Christmas is getting a scanner to bridge her money gap ... and allow her to use her classic cameras with less darkroom and shoot more....
