CF 384mb, standard or am i loosing my mind again?

Recommended Posts

If my ass remembers correctly, those were 384mb microdrives, type II (full height - 5mm).

Old and ... well... old. And small. I wouldn't use one even if I got it for free. My camera eats 2gig cards and my mp3 player has a 2gig card too. :)

In the earlier days of CF there were many "odd" sizes of drives that built up capacity in 64 MB multiples. I have an old 192 MB card that cost a few hundred dollars. Now that semiconductor density has increased manufacturers seem to have gone to using larger multiples for CF card capacity increases.

So from that capacity I would assume it is an older CF card (I could be wrong). But you can now pick up a 1 GB card for $70-80 US new so make sure you are not paying too much in an auction.
