tomaso nigris
Up to now I didn't care about rating time but after receiving different rating with more or less same picture but uploaded in different time I was thinking if rating have any relation with time you upload photos for critique. For example if you are in Europe and you upload in the morning you will find sleepy European photographers, Asian people which are in the afternoon, and American people that are still sleeping because they are in the middle of the night. May be here some photographers have special time strategy!!
swenson
IMHO, any attempt to figure out ratings will make you crazy!
leorossi
I tried posting in different time-slots. The time I got more response was on friday, about midnight, my time (GMT+1).
keith turrill
Actually fascinating. In the winter, I used to publish in the morning in the US which would be afternoon in Europe. The reason being was to try and avoid late night ethanol powered ratings.
jmontgomery
We are a global organization at PN and I have wondered and experimented some with time slots ... but with no real conclusions.
It would be interesting to know if statistics exist on time of submittal and time to reach say 10 ratings and if this would allow a strategy for most exposure, etc.
I have generally tried to submit on a Friday about noon (US/EST) ... this catches Europe for evening looks and US for later, etc. ... but I can't always do this. keith turrill
The lower half of the US, Mexico, the Mediterranean, and much of the Asia/Pacific have fairly consistant daylight hours all year. Northern Europe and Canada have limited winter daylight and very long days in the summer. Perhaps there are some seasonal and geographic considerations with respect to time-of-day use of the website.
