ray_davis2
Could someone please give me a solid starting development time for TMAX 100 exposed at EI 100 developed in Rodinal? (68 degrees...120 film...small tank...oh and agitation advice!)
dana_h._myers_k6jq
I wouldn't expose TMX @ EI100 if I was going to process in Rodinal. If the film is already exposed, try Xtol 1+1. If you haven't exposed it yet, I'd start with the suggested exposure/processing data in the Agfa Rodinal datasheet (look at http://www.agfaphoto.com/library/datasheet/chemicals/rodinal.html). I found EI64, Rodinal 1+50, 12 min was pretty darn close, but I prefer dilute Xtol for T-Max.
Dana K6JQ Dana@Source.Net
mohammad_irfanul_islam
Every one in this forum you all want to process in Xtol/Rodinal, why you don't try TMAX chemical for Tmax/Tri-X-pan. Is Tmax costly then any other chemicals? What I do - for 1 roll( Tmax 58ml + 242ml water = 300ml)at 26 degree C. Agitation every 30 seconds. Time 4 minutes 30 seconds. Before processing I wash the film with fresh water at 26 degree C.
cedric_lorret
I think you should not use rodinal for developing TMAX films , Because the great advantage of this kind of film is a very fine grain, and rodinal makes large grain.I've already tryed TMX in rodinal, an I obtained a very irregular grain. Use better TMAX or XTOL developers for T-grains films. If you want to obtain a bit more grain, better use classical technology film as PLUS-X or TRI-X...More, I find the grain of T-max films fuzzy, and I prefer the sharper grain of classical technology film.
(Sorry for my bad english)
mike_leitheiser
Rodinal 1:100, 68 degrees, 18 minutes, EI 100 agitate GENTLY 2 inversions every minute. Nice mackie lines, good tonal range, grain is fine IMHO for up to 8x10.
hansjuerg_walder
Best results with TMX and Rodinal:
ISO 50 / Delution 1:50 / 8 Min 30 sec. / 200 Celsius
Fine grain, no problem (35 mm and 6 x 6 cm)
