didjiman
I have developed ~300 rolls of B&W in the last couple years with the Jobo CPE2. Last couple rolls I am experiencing some damages to the emulsion. I have started trying to use PermaWash (1 min water, 1 min PermaWash, 1 min 2x change of water) instead of the 10x change of water that I used to use. Can the PermaWash cause this kind of problem, or is it something else? Thanks.<div></div>
William Kahn
To me, this looks like some kind of mechanical damage, not chemical. Does the whole roll show similar damage, or just individual frames?
evan_goulet
Agreed, this looks like your film got creased either in unloading from the cartridge, or loading/unloading from the reel
ronald_moravec1
When unloading the reel, clip the outmost wrap and hang. Then pull the reel down. When you get t the end, do not let the leader snap back and get the exposed frames. The corner is sharp and emulsion soft. Looks just like this if it happens. Don`t ask how I know. rowland_mowrey
Richard; This is mechanical not chemical damage and at the time it was done, the emulsion was very soft. Of course, some chemicals can soften emulsions, but even so, this should not happen to normally handeled film. The clue to its being super soft at the time is the scalloped form of the 'cut' in the center. At least that is my best guess. Ron Mowrey
