vinay_devari
Hi All, Developing a B&W film takes roughly 7-10 days where I stay so I just got an idea why not capture everything on color film and then develope it with B&W settings(I guess so). I really have no idea about developing and printing so can anyone please tell me can I do that?? Vinay
m_p7
If I understand correctly, you mean taking b&w film to a lab takes 7-10 days while color is faster. Why not just develop your own b&w film? It's cheaper and it takes a half hour.
anupam
Or you could shoot chromogenic films and process at the local 1 hr lab. Not quite the same as BW but close enough I think. -A
rich_ullsmith1
Vinay, it sounds like the start of a great adventure!
lex_jenkins
True b&w film cannot be developed properly using color film processing. If you take b&w film to a color minilab they'll probably simply refuse to accept the film. As others suggested you can either consider using a C-41 process chromogenic monochrome film, which can be developed and printed by any color minilab, or try processing your own b&w film at home. gaius1
Vinay, try shooting XP2 Super and having it developed at your local 1-hour lab. If they say they can't, download the product data from Ilford's web site that says they can in their regular C41 chemistry. If you say words like C41 to them they will immediately assume you are an expert in these matters!
