Photo Techniques. They used

to be called Darkroom Techniques and later Darkroom and Creative

Camera Techniques, but have broadened their subject matter. Now they

also have digital articles. Still, they are probably the best

magazine publishing technical articles on black and white. View

Camera also sometimes has excellent articles on black and white.

There's an English magazine (Black & White Magazine) that's just

started (about 4-5 issues so far) that I've found to be a good read

with some fine pictures in it. They have various technical articles,

one I find interesting where a guy takes readers negatives and prints

them explaining what he's done and why.

So there are two magazines called B&W. Obviously it's not the same

one as www.bandwmag.com.

So, do they have a website? IS it bimonthy published? Give me more

details please, I'm interested!

I think there must be several B&W magazines.. I know of others! The

one I'm refering to was bi-monthly (every two months) but I think

they were going to monthly. I'm actually hanging out for the next

edition.. checking the newstand daily, etc :) They didn't have a

website last edition.

Now there are two B&W magazines:

One is monthlly published, from the UK, technically oriented:

http://www.gmcmags.com/

The second is bimonthly published, from the US, art oriented:

http://www.bandwmag.com/

Now I'm gonna settle on PhotoTechnique, PhotoVision, and B&W

Photography (from the UK).

I want to choose one from LensWork and B&W (from the US) for art-

oriented publication. Which one?

Lenswork is a good magazine that features thought provoking editorials

and essays by well known authors along with very nice black and white

imagery. Small portfolios. Black and White Magazine is about the

gallery and photographic collecting scene. They feature a lot more

portfolios than Lenswork and instead of essays and editorial comment

they feature articles on the collecting scene. And a few bios. I

subscribe to both and have since their inception. I enjoy both and it

would be hard to pick a favorite. Together they encompass most of the

Black and White photographic work.
