daveish182
Hi, I'm looking at getting a cheap digital SLR and the Pentax *ist DS/DL seems to fit the bill as i wanted to use manual focus glass and I've heard K mount "A" lenses will allow auto exposure without stopping the lens down. Is this still true with Tamron adaptall 2 Pentax K mount? Thanks
Jochen_S
My own Tamrons are f3.5 zooms. They behave like "A" lenses with a "A"adaptall and allow dialing in apertures from f3.5 to f22 with ring set on "AE".
mark_foerster
Auto aperture won't work with an adaptall K mount. You need the P/KA adaptall mount. They're a little hard to come by compared to the common (and still for sale) K mount - took me a while to find mine. Also, there tends to be a glitch in the mount where you have to rotate the lens slightly (~1 mm) from the lock position for the 3 electrical connectors to line up. I read about the problem first and sure enough it showed up with my mount.
