rogerp
Just bought this Baldamatic II (I've been looking for a nice one for a while) it really has unique looks :-) Born in 1961 and cost then 50 GBP - $140.00 - which represented back then over a couple of weeks wage for a skilled man in the UK. I've yet to put film though it but it all seems to be working just fine. Anyone used one of these? Roger<div></div>
ken_jeanette
I've never used one of those, but it has a vague resemblance to some Kodak cameras of that vintage, and I know Kodak has a relationship with Schnieder. Could there be a Kodak variant of this? Regardless, it is a beautiful machine. It looks tiny, perhaps the siize of a Bolsey. Too bad there weren't some standard way of showing scale in equipment photos Good luck with it
Minoxit
roger i had one of those, bought in a car boot sales somewhere in sussex...unused as it was by the looks of it,had the viewfinder compromised...some sort of fungi i tried the camera with fuji across 100...WONDERFUL LENS!!! not too fond though about shutter release,i found it kinda funny, but then again this was the craze at the height of such cameras(see kodak, agfa, ilford cameras about the same type) i gave it to my brother, and he still takes wonderful pics with it...looks that this lens works better with colour film than with bw:-)))) this is all i remember, hope it helps please do post some pics,please... regards
rogerp
It's not tiny unfortunately. Overall measurements are about 5in wide x 3.5in tall x 2.5in deep (including lens). Weighs in at 1lb 6ozs (650 gms). I will include a film cannister or roll with any other photos I may use.
jorn ake
Something like a Retina IIF or a IIS/IIIS you mean? They look like they at least share a few design goals.
rogerp
Jorn I don't have either of those Retinas but here's a comparison with a Retina IIIc and a roll of fairly contemporary film. Roger<div></div>
vivek iyer
I like the lens shade. Is that an original or is it from a more compact rangefinder camera (lens)? The film does not look all that recent. Contemperory to the cameras in discussion?
rogerp
Vivek The shade is a new item - look up item 7518671903 on eBay. I meant the film was roughly the same age as the cameras (well probably not quite so old.) Roger
