samir
Mac OS Tiger comes with a set of new print drivers, GIMP? I have not seen anything on the EPSON website on this? Do you have any information with this new GIMP? It seems they are not as flexible as the standard EPSON drivers. Any experience?
steve_rutledge
GImp isn't new to Tiger.. it's been around for a few years now in OSX. It's a generic print driver that allows basic printing with alot of printers incase you don't have the real print drivers for your printer. Install the proper Epson drivers and leave the gimp alone! jtk
Mac is the wrong tool for digital photography, but it can be made to work if you stay on top of it. The important applications are optimised for XP, of course.

brian_ristuccia1
The gimp-print (aka gutenprint) drivers are at http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/ The gimp-print drivers fit in perfectly with the CUPS infrastructure on OSX and other unix-like systems. As a result, there are some important advantages over the Epson provided driver. A wide variety of Epson models are supported, including the very popular R800, R1800, 2200, R2400, etc. Note that since profiles are both printer and driver specific, you'll need to generate new profiles if you switch drivers.
