KenPapai
Resource to read about this camera, release FEB. 2004: (basic math answer really for an 8.2MP sensor)
1DMkII Review at dpreview.com. A "typical" RAW file size is 8MB. Divide 2048 by 8 for your answer: 256 typical RAW images on a 2GB CF.
KenPapai
RTFM: Page 45 of the 1D Mark II manual says a typical filesize for RAW is 8.3MB. Of course if you shoot RAW+JPG you'll get far fewer than 250 RAW images on a 2GB card.
mark_chappell
I have a 1D II and a couple of 2 gig cards, which show space for 183 RAW images (ISO 400) when empty and freshly formatted.
anna yu
In real life I get about 189 RAW files one a SanDisk Extreme 2 GB (no jpg).
david cunningham
i can get 90 raw files on a 1 gig so on a 2 gig must be around 180 or so.
andrewmoore
Thanks guys and girls , the real life equation is more interesting to see. i guess you get many different answers, depending on what ISO you used. but the factor is 256, this is what i primarily need to know. Cheers !
KenPapai
Andrew - DOWNLOAD the manual from Canon's site and get a leg up when your new body arrives. It's just a 5MB download into a beautiful PDF manual.
http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=DownloadIndexAct&fcategoryid=

rokkor fan
The camera indicates 188 RAW at 250 ISO for a 2GB card, but in actual shooting conditions (weddings) it's more like 250 shots.
primoz
I never shoot only raw but always raw+jpeg (large) and it depends on iso but usually on my 1dmk2 and 1gb card I cant get somewhere between 70-80 photos. So I guess on 2gb it would be 140-160.
suzie_bauman
This has all been very helpful. However, I'm confused on the one who mentioned ISO. Would it be less pictures with lower ISO or higher ISO? I'm new to all of this and am really trying to get a photography business going in the future. I need all information from any avenue I can get.
