I am not a street shooter per se but I really love the genre and

like the work that a lot of you men and women do here on PN. I

think the work of DeCarava is truly outstanding and I think his

street images are some of the best taken by anyone, past or

present. Am I full of Milwaukee bologne or do any you serious

street shooters agree or not agree.

<p>Yeah, I know the name and have admired his work. He was a black photographer who photographed in Harlem. You can see <a href="http://www.masters-of-photography.com/D/decarava/decarava_graduation_full.html"> some of his work</a> on <a href=http://www.masters-of-photography.com/>www.masters-of-photography.com</a>, and there is a 2-page spread in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0821227262/qid=1115949687/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/102-8034242-8653752?v=glance&s=books&n=507846">Bystander</a>

He's an example of a guy who photographed his 'hood. There's some good-sized advantage to that. It's there, it's accessible, and you know it. I like his focus on people and their expressions, and I like his work.</p>
