fredus
Hi there, I'm very happy with my 90mm TE but the focusing ring is a bit stickycompare to my 35 and 50 summicron. Basically it's not smooth as Iwould like to. Is there anything I can do by myself or am I better offto have it CLAed by some specialist (DAG ? Sherry ?) Thanks ! george_b1
I have a late model 90 TE (Thin) that gradually went the same way. I sent the lens to the US Leica repair folk. They apparently regreased it, and it's fine. DAG or Sherry will probably be cheaper and more responsive. George (The Old Fud)
Jochen_S
I'm suffering from the same problem with the 90mm cron. The local repairfolks told me 40 Euro will do, but I'll have to leave a camera for recalibrating. (I'll do so as soon as I 've payed the stuff) My own attempts with oil were successles because the focusing tube hides the helical too well. - I had stunning results with Molykote A in my Agfa. If you have watchmakers hands you might be able to do the job yourself, but I 'd prefer something inexpensive / unimportant to hone my skills. ronald_moravec1
A touch of lighter fluid on the threads you can see applied with a cotton swab may help. Work the lens back and forth to move the solvent around. Moderation is the key. You don`t want solvent moving all over the place.
huw_finney
They are not too difficult to strip, clean and relube but getting the helicies back in the right place is a bit (understatement of the year) of a pain. The few drops of thin oil trick usually works for a while.
