Drying marks on film

Recommended Posts

I have processed my own B&W white film but they always dry with

marks and streaks I have used wetting agent and a film squgge to no

avail. I have rewashed some which takes most of it off and cured it

mostly but still a bit marked on the shiny non emulsion side but

when i scan the negs it is pretty unforgiving showing up any marks I

have no probs wet printing them although the serious marks show.

If anyone has am solution for un streaky un dry marked film i would

appracitae it alot.

Cheers

Kieran

There are a number of posts about this problem that you may find helpful on this site. In the mean time, I would suggest that you put your wetting agent in distilled water, soak for 30 seconds, then hang the film at a slight angle to allow the water to move to the edge as it runs off.

I recently had drying marks on a couple of rolls of b/w film. I realised that I had got into the habit of mixing the wetting agent and water rather briskly resulting in bubbles which adhered to the film when I removed it. I didn't squeegee it -just let the wetting agent drain from the film (consequently ending up with drying marks from the bubbles)
