jasona1
My Strobes take a standard 1/8" mini cable. This is the same connecter thepocket wizard uses. Had trouble locating my "Pocket Wizard" branded mini to minicable($24) and no one has them in stock here. I grabbed a $4 cable from RadioShack. Does anyone see any problems with using this generic cable. I can'timagine there is anything special about the PW branded cable. -J
will_perlis
I've done that, it's no problem. If you're shooting anything important it's good to have a few spares around anyway.
savagesax
Kind of weird, but the radio shack item seems to be just fine. Hard to believe the price difference.
will_perlis
"Hard to believe the price difference." Not after you look for one designed by Bulgari on Rodeo Drive. The PW ones *might* be constructed a little bit better but I suspect they a) don't want to be bothered with lots of orders for a low profit commodity item and b) they'll take your money if you insist on paying them lots. newberry
I recently searched at B&H for a 1/4" phono to 1/8" mini to connect a PW to a Travelite strobe. The sync cables were $25 or more. Then I searched at B&H for the same cord, but for audio. They had it for a fraction of the price (I can't remember how much offhand, but it was a Hosa cable). So far it works fine.
