1. Hi Folks: Anyone know the manufacturer, or anything else about this tripod? I can't find any maker name on it, I'll be selling it, trying to identify it. 2. Ah right, forgot about the gift checkbox, that all makes sense, thanks NHSN.
3. Thanks for the reply. This is a 5x7 envelope with cardboard and note to recipient. For "description" on customs form, would you suggest "gift" or "documents" or "printed matter"?
4. I'm mailing a few 5x7 prints to a friend in Japan, not selling them (I posted in business forum because I couldn't find a more appropriate one). I need to fill out a customs form since it's overseas (I'm in U.S.), and wondering if there will be a tax/tariff for these that my friend will have to pay. I've Googled this but can't find detailed info. Should I enter "photos" under description, and will that be taxed?
5. I have a Minolta Dimage Scan Multi Pro, which Iove, and have mainly used to scan chromes and black and white negatives, with Vuescan. Recently I scanned 35mm Portra negatives, well-exposed, and had a hard time getting good color. I've been using Vuescan for years, and feel I have a good grasp of color adjustments. I scanned the same Portra negatives with Vuescan and a Canoscan 9000F, and it was much easier to get the color where I wanted it; using same Vuescan app and color controls. Apparently the Minolta scanner has a dynamic range of 4.8; can't find that for the Canoscan, but I assume it's not higher than 4.8. The Minolta is Firewire 400; I can't get it to work with my current Mac, even with adapter, so I use an older Mac Mini for Minolta scans. Anyone have any ideas why color adjustments in Vuescan would work much better with the Canoscan?
6.
Anyone know if there's a way to hold the shutter open with a Nimslo camera? A "bulb" setting, or similar...I'd like to have the shutter open for a few seconds or more.

7.
Anyone heard anything about a replacement? Today is the last day of a $200 Epson rebate, so I can get one for about $935 after rebate. I know this is a great printer, but don't want to buy it if there's something better for the same price coming along soon...
