steve_huff1
Few Noct shots - some inside at F1, some outside at F1 (using 8X B&W ND filter) - LOVE this lens with color film. Shot using Kodak portra 160VC<div></div>

35mmdelux
color is great but what happened to bokeh? BTW if you like color try K-14 iso Ektachrome 64 - Wow.
roger_smith4
It's a strange lens but I have to say looking at your shots, it is growing on me. The odd distortion takes some of the edge off the normally sharp and harsh daylight world.
paul hart
Your first shot shows what I found odd about this lens when I had one: the OOF areas range from perfectly normal (eg the dark areas in the far background) to postively freakish (the light green bit over the lady's head). Having said that, it sometimes produces images that are absolutely beautiful and create that 'must have' ethos among Leica users.
alan_wilder1
The first shot is the best by far in demonstating why this lens is so coveted for it's bokeh and isolation of focus yet still producing a very sharp subject in the plane of focus even when shot at f/1. john_shriver
The bokeh is almost as nutty as a Summar wide open. Slightly less swirly. But I've gotten the same effect with dappled leaves. But the "sharp spot" of the Summar isn't as sharp, or at least as contrasty, as the Noctilux. But, the Summar sure makes a decent "poor man's Noctilux, at least where you don't need the speed. melaniec
I need this lens. Maybe I'll find one on the sidewalk someday. I have an M3 and am used to having a rigid Summicron 50/2 mounted on it (my only lens). Over the weekend I had an opportunity to play with a Noctilux and didn't find it prohibitively large. Size matters to me since I carry my camera in my purse with me every day. Thanks for posting these images, guys. Now my jones for this lens is even worse! kevin m.
I suppose it's a matter of taste, but those weird OOF artifacts in the images with spectral highlights makes it seem doubly odd that people pay a premium in both weight and price to carry the lens that makes them.
