low light
My M6 and 50mm Summicron will be arriving tomorrow and as I already have a mass of Nikon gear have I gone crazy? I don't want to start a flame thread here but I'm going to Hong Kong soon and I thought I would spoil myself! I think I'll have to practice the film loading a bit as it can be a bit tricky, hope to post some pictures when get back! Oh dear I feel like a kid waiting for christmas. . . jeff7
Hong Kong's Leica is relatively cheap. You should purchase some lenses there
Alex_Es
It'll be different and difficult at times. In the end you'll be pleased.
nee_sung
Don't go to any camera shop along Nathan Road, but the secondary streets behind Nathan Road are fine. The reason is the exorbitant rents of Nathan Road forced these shops into shady practices.

SolaresLarrave
Never kink or twist or bend the film leader when you load the camera. Just make sure it goes in between the parts of the tulip-shaped take-up spool. Most important is to help the film holes go into the sprocket wheel in the camera, right next to the take-up spool, because the film is not pulled by the spool, but rather pushed by the sprocket wheel. That's all it takes to load a Leica. Practice loading the camera with a dummy roll (that is, a roll you have dedicated to use as "your practice roll"). It is really easy, and won't expose the curtains to any damage. In fact, bending or kinking the film leader (in the mistaken belief that the spool pulls the film) may hurt the shutter curtains... and you don't want that to happen. Good luck and welcome to an addiction!
larry_kincaid1
Another film loading trick that has always helped me is to turn the film in the cannister to take up all the slack in the film before loading it. Then when it's loaded and you advance the film, you can immediately see the take up spool turning properly.
stephen_w.
The film slack in the roll doesen't matter because it will unwind after loading. Just make sure both sprockets engage when loading.
