ifeito
I checked and found in a reference that Don Baccus used this combination, but I'm not sure that he refers to the USM lens because of the date of his post. I ordered the EF12II for my wide angle zoom and it will be delivered next week, so I'm not asking whether I should buy it or not. I know it will also work with my 100 f/2.8 USM Macro, but the question is whether it will allow me to install my 1.4X Extender behind the EF12II and the 100 2.8 Macro. Of course this will not be the combination of choice to achieve a 1.67:1 (or 5:3) macro that my numbers show it should give, but it should work in a pinch. Thanks! awindsor
Yes. I have a third party tube and I can assemble this combination.
lester_wareham
Yes I often use the EF 100mm Macro USM with both the EF 1.4X and more often the EF 2X with a kenko 12mm tube between them to stop the TCs elements interfering with the back of the macro lens. Works fine though of course you loose infinity focus. Also the lens apature and focal length is still reported as if there were no TC.
mark_chappell
Exactly what Lester says.
ifeito
Thanks guys! Like I said, that's not what I bought it for, but it will be an excellent added fringe! Ignacio
