Personally, if someone offered constructive comment on my work, I would be very happy and (if appropriate) they attached a tweaked version of my work to illustrate their point, I would be overjoyed. Nothing beats visually illustrating your critique. In fact, I believe the addition of a tweak gives the person's comments more meaning/authority/weight. Another plus side is if the tweak is not to my liking, I will say so (politely) and why. Isn't critiquing one of the cornerstones of PN - to share ideas with the aim of improving everybody's work?
