I thought some of you may enjoy it since he seems to charge a flat $15.00 shipping world wide.http://stores.ebay.com/Cameras-from-Russia_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm Enjoy Larry

kelly_flanigan1
I bought alot of Russian cameras and lens prior to 9/11 less so afterward. You may find theses Ulraine & Russian airmail prices to the USA interesting. For the typical Zorki3C Fed2; or 4; with Jupiter-8 and case the shipping was about 7 bucks; maybe a min of 5.5; max of say 9.5. It was considered a rip off if a seller had a 10 dollar shipping charge! The typical transit time was about say 14 actual days after mailing them the cash. Yes cash; most "systems" were started at 7 bucks; some a 9.99 for body; lens; and case; and Yak hair wrapped brown bag shipping box. Thus a typical completed auction was about 15 to 17 bucks; with airmail shipping. Thus a 20 dollar bill was typically sent; which was easier than a more expense absurd postal internationl money order request gamit; and the forms; and the postal waits and delays. I did one like that and got the camera 7 weeks later. The airmail shipping for my dinky orion-15 was 5 dollars. Now post 9/11 the security and oil costs have skyrocketed; and now shipping alone is more than what I paid for the whole affair.
rich815
Kelly, your point is well taken, however I've bought a few things from Russian/Ukrainian sellers on eBay lately. The shipping was $10 USD and the items arrived in 10-14 days. This guy charging $20 for everything is just too much, especially for lightweight things like standard lenses, plastic Lubitels and bakelite plastic camera bodies. jan_brittenson
I recently bought an M42 Helios 44-2. Lens cost $7.90, air mail $8 from Kiev. $20 sounds like a ripoff to me.
lloyd_lim
Look at the total cost.. For example, if most auctions for a Kiev-4A close at $25 with a $10 shipping charge, then I would not mind bidding up to $15 with a $20 shipping charge, after all, the overall cost is the same.
