I really like the first shot Stuart - very nice - where & details?

The main detail I prefer in a photograph is a lack of an uneccessary distraction in the shot

Also - if eyes are in the shot I prefer them to be the primary focus point - whether it's people or animals - the catchlights are nice if they are done right & not overdone

Thanks Lee. It was in Maruyama Park in Sapporo, Japan. It was the first snow of the year.

There was nothing, and then almost instantly these huge wet snowflakes started coming

down really hard. I shot that picture on Fuji Acros. The camera was a Leica MP with 50/1.4

ASPH at 1/30th of a second (to get the snow to blur). The second one was in the same park,

at Hokkaido Shrine. It was also taken on Acros with an MP, but the lens was the 75/1.4. I

forget if it was the same day, but it was snowing slightly...

Hi Lee,

<P>

I am still using my last bottle of Rodinal. It is a bit of a complex formula though. I am doing

1:100 at 72-75 degrees for 18 mins. Agitation for 15 seconds of each of the first 3 minutes,

then one inversion every three minutes. You also need to make sure that you have 10mL of

Rodinal for every roll, otherwise you get very low contrast negatives. But I think Acros is

pretty good in normal developers as well. I am just using Rodinal because it is what I got

used to when I was in Japan (I needed a one shot developer).
