david_carson
The title says it all...Hasselblad 553elx - does it have the gliding mirror system (GMS) and ttl?
terry_dent1
I'm not sure if it is a GMS but the 553 and the 500elx before it have some type of different mirror geometry that allows a full viewfinder image with telephoto lenses. It's great and these bodies are getting really cheap!
david_carson
Hmmm, I dug around some more and found these links:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/FrameWork/charts/comp_hasslbmed_5.html
http://www.hasselblad.se/Archive/documents/Downloads_files/Information/500_series.PDF
The links seem to say the 553elx has the GMS and confirms it has ttl flash, but in particular the hassy pdf seems to infer there are different types of GMS, with the 555eld having a "GMS with a mirror suspension similar to that in the Hasselblad space cameras."
Anyone with more info? enw
A firm yes to both questions. The 553ELX has both the GMS and the TTL flash capability.
