bekster
Does anyone know how to disable the processing of html tags in Internet Explorer? I am specifically interested in disabling the MARQUEE tag that many members have in the bio space. I understand that if I have a browser that doesn't process them they will not be displayed. Do I need to stop using Internet Explorer? I have searched but have not found the answer...
emre
You do not really want to disable HTML; just the IE extensions listed here: http://docs.rinet.ru/WPU/ch28.htm If you want to know how your page looks in other browsers, just install those browsers. bobatkins
I don't belive you can selectively disable HTML tags in IE. If you don't like them try Firefox or Opera.
bekster
Yes I understand what the tags are, my question is regarding the functionality of the Internet Explorer browser and its capability to filter the tags and not process the ones I select. Disabling "Play animations in web pages" in the "Multimedia" settings does not work. If I disable "Show Pictures" the scrolling still goes on with empty frames. I found some information about "filtering" html but it was not clear what the mechanism is. Perhaps there is a patch to IE that allows such processing to occur? william_linzenmeyer
Becky,<br>If you figure it out please let me know. With my slow dial up connection they take forever to load, and sometimes don't. Even if they do, they end up all herky, jerky and just plain annoying. I assume it's just because of my slow connection that they work so crappy?? I pray that some day soon I'll have a fast connection so I will know... 24k stinks!!!!</br>Bill
katzpjs
Becky, William, <br> After reading your remarks I will abandon all thoughts of adding this feature to my bio. Maybe others will get the message that it is annoying to some patrons.</br>Shawn
