steve_rasmussen
I have sent a preliminary design for my proposed 35mm to Pentax USA and asked them to forward it to the design group in Tokyo for their consideration. As usual, I have heard nothing from either office. If anyone is curious about the cross section, let me know via email and I will email it to you. jim_sabo
It would be interesting to see if you ever get a reply. Unless you have a working relationship with them, I would expect not. Many companies refuse to look at consumer submitted designs because of patent and compensation issues. If they happen to be working on something already and then view your submission, they would be open to claims of stealing your design. As a matter of course, in most companies, this type of mail never makes it past the mail room, except on the way to the dumpster.
steve_rasmussen
Jim, you are probably right in most of your response. The reason I didn't give them the surface radii and exact glass types was so they could claim it as their own without having any patent calamities. wayne_willis2
I hope they follow up on your design. this is the lens I want - my other option is to get a 38mm Zeiss and use a 15mm viewfinder from Voightlander and try to mount it with the mirror up.
