manuel_terra
hi,I have a couple o grafloks I would like to paint.By what i have read on the internet ,and my possibilities,I understand that I should use enamel paint. You can find that in flat or gloss at microtools(no spray). On the other hand I read someone in an other post recomending the use of fuel proof engine enamel, that sounds logical thinking of a more resistent enamel layer....so I am in doubt, should I go for the brush classic camera acrylic enamel ? or should I try an engine enamel spray? If you have any experience on this let me know.thank's.
paul ron
Krylon acrylic ultra flat black spray paint. Clean the surfaces well to be sure you get a good bond. Laquer thinner will clean up. The more you say, the less people listen.
Jochen_S
Manuel, are you talking about the inside (low reflection) or outside (good look)? Engine and exhaust tube black is the flattest black I ever stumbled across, that's why I use it when I fear reflections of something. I don't know the product Paul mentioned, but well that might be due to different national markets.
jeff bishop
Enamel is getting scarce around these parts. When I need it, I usually go for Rustoleum, as it's enamel.
canfred
I use Wattyl Super Etch its flat black epoxy. Comes in spray cans as well for best results heat in oven at 110 deg. C . Exceptional non reflective and very hard wearing finish. Sold as primer but just right as a top coat too.
leicaglow
Manuel, I use glossy black engine enamel to touch up items. I am careful in masking and don't touch the part for several days. The results are impossible to tell from most original paint. But if you screw it up, it's a real pain.
