Of course a photo remains a photo but there's something to be said for attempting to create photographs that are somehow less literal. I'm a big fan of "capturing the moment" but that's not the only thing to do with a camera. From the photos posted here is looks like acheving a painterly quality seems to be easier at slow shutter speeds in low, funky lighting. Hmmm..I suppose Bill Allard discovered this a long time ago!
