amber_frederiksen1
I am new to the world of "professional" photography (i.e. i quit my former job to pursue this full-time). i was contacted by an ad agency who came across my website wanting to get a quote for a 3-day shoot they want to do in a couple of weeks time. No other information was given, so I responded with questions about what was involved, usage, etc. I was answered with there would be "5/6 hero shots as well as 30 detail shots". The usage would be for 1-year only online usuage, but possibly magazine adverts as well. want flex usage pricing." I may not be familiar with the lingo, but i'm not sure what "hero shots" means. should i reply with further questions, or should i just throw out a very ballpark figure with a statement saying something like "this estimate is based on my limited knowledge of the shoot and i will need more information to give a more accurate estimate"? Also, what would a fee for that type of usage and number of shots normally run?? thanks!!
bill c.
Amber-- "Hero" shots are shots that the AD can pull out for larger use that show the product/subject marvelously. They make the product look "heroic". Flex pricing is great, but make sure you get some time compensation, as well. If you really want to look professional, check out the thread in this forum titled "The all-inclusive invoice fee addenda." You can download it, edit it to your specs, and use it if you wish.
