acearle
I'd be happy to post the offender's name here, but public floggings aren't my style.
mike dixon
abuse@photo.net This is given in the Photo.net FAQ which has a link at the bottom of just about every page on photo.net.
art_kramer
don't take it to heart. your idea of a good picture may not be quite the same as what some people on here might think.their standards are way higher than mine or maybe even yours. just keep shooting them pics. a long time ago
have you ever noticed that some of the oldest most established pnetters don't post any work? everyone's a critric. screw the rating's and enjoy your work. And if you want some real abuse weld up a hitch for someones truck for free layin' in the driveway in the rain with there dog sniffin' at your butt the day before they plan on pulling there boat through the ozarks....you can't please everyone. acearle
Thanks for the responses, I actually am not upset by the low ratings. This was just such blatant ratings abuse that I figure that it ought to be pointed out. It looks like someone beat me to it, though. The account is no longer active (or at least the culprit's ratings are gone). Ratings are ratings are ratings. Can't please all of the people all of the time. Someone is always gonna hate something while another person likes it. Abuse, though...the concious attempts to lower overall ratings...I have not seen such an overt attempt as this (1/1 ratings on multiple shots with 80% of ALL the user's ratings being 1/1) in my brief (errr...well, nearly a year) experience with photo.net. I DO focus in on any rating lower than 4 to try and figure out what the person didn't like. Fortunately in this case, I didn't waste much time with this rater, lol.
